AT HOME
Welcome your sweetheart home dressed to the nine’s. Make it a special occasion. Every time they come home. Remember they don’t have to. They want to be with you. We all have hard days. Where every thing seems to go wrong. Your hair won’t go where you want it to. The kids have been fighting
all day. The washer just sprung a leak. And on and on. Like my wife say’s to a lot of her friends, “ just put on your big girl panties and deal with it”. Life happens to all of us. Take it in stride. Change the things you can. If you can’t control it. Don’t worry about it.
Hey,
How about doing a personal ad? Write down all their best qualities.
Their background. Their likes and dislikes. Like…. Searching for my
long lost love. She is 5’3” tall. Very slender figure. Loves Crochet,
Plastic canvas, almost any crafts. Very warm hearted. The most
beautiful Hazel eyes you could ever imaging. And on and on. Have them
read it over morning coffee. No playing hooky . Time for that later,
after you have had all day to thing about the ad.
Do like I’m doing
and write an e-book about how to keep your love alive. Some people will glance though this and laugh. That’s alright. They will be in divorce court soon enough. And NO I am not saying that if you read this e-book that your marriage will be like the Beaver’s family. It takes work and lot’s of it.
If you have a fireplace.
Make a pallet on the floor and watch the fire’s glo on your partners face. She
never looked so sweet. If you don’t have a fireplace. Do like I did. Take a cardboard box and get some red brick contact paper. Cover the box with the contact paper then find a picture of the fire. Glue the picture onto the box. Turn the heat down or the A/C up. You want snuggling weather don’t you? Feed each other fruits, veggies and drinks. Though caution to the wind. Have fun. Enjoy yourself and your partner.
If possible, Take your baths together. Not only does it save water but you never know what might pop up while washing each other. Fill the tub with nice warm water, some bubbles, soft music and something to drink. Let your conscience be your guide.
Make your favorite meals together.
And try new ones. Create something new. Take and old recipe and put a new twist on it. My wife’s family makes a cake they call “Crisco buttermilk cake”. It is a lemon bunt type cake that is great. But with my food service background I just had to change it. So instead of using lemon extract and fresh lemon for the topping. I used Maple and walnut. Talk about something good. It makes my mouth water just talking about it. Try making nachos or tacos at home. Easy and fun for both of you.
If you take turns cooking
have the other person do the clean up. Then the next night switch places. I love cooking with my wife. Even though she thinks some of my ideas about
food are bonkers.
Play hide and seek with your sweetheart.
Close all the curtains, dim the lights and if needed turn up the heat.
Do it naked or at least with minimal clothes on like PJ’s.
Paint
a room together. Paint the whole house together. Don’t complain about
the color that he or she picked for a room. Who knows you may learn to
love it.
Snuggle together on the couch. Watch TV or a movie while holding your loved one. You may not get to see all of it though.
Nothing brings people together faster
than a garden. As you work in a garden, just watching things grow. And the new like that you are helping to create. It is just wonderful. Our garden is about 25’ X 40’. It is more than we can handle sometimes but we work it together. As does the garden grow so do you. Keep the weeds out of the garden and out of your relationship. Till, fertilize, water and love each other.
